[ACT334] Iszoloscope โ€Ž- False Vacuum

Since the beginning, a distinguishing feature of Iszoloscope has been the addition of intelligent and unexpected details to the basic ingredients that industrial music is known for. This, the project’s seventh full length album ‘False Vacuum’ raises the already high bar yann faussurier set on his previous releases in a most astounding way.
Within these nine tracks iszoloscope is establishing ties between a myriad of different styles ranging from solemn orchestral constructs and rich dark ambient soundscapes to sequenced hard-hitting technoid industrial rhythms and fast remorseless drum and bass beat structures. Mighty pulsating sub basses and loony melodic curls, hypnotic percussion and carefully placed bursts of electronics evoke highly energetic atmospheres of power and tension that resonate inside the listener’s mind.
Accompanied by many personal changes it took Iszolocsope nearly four years to complete this opus, and after taking a deep view everyone will agree it was worth waiting for. highly recommended.

[RAUB-028] Megaptera – Nailed On Vinyl

Raubbau is proud to resurrect another legend from beyond the grave. Megaptera were (or are?) an infamous death industrial unit from the swedish town of Nykรถping, led by Peter Nystrรถm – also known as Negru Voda, under which he released a 7 inch on the Raubbau predecessor, Formosan Records.

Megaptera disbanded in 1999, leaving only their cult legacy and some post-mortem re-releases, but now they have risen for the occasion of a benefit compilation on Malignant Records. From there it was a small step to gather some like-minded artists to support the recording of two brand new tracks and two remixes. So embrace these 37 minutes of darkness:
‘Second Recovering’ is an all new track, featuring Robert C. Kozletsky of shock frontier, a hellish brew of dis-torted samples, martial percussion, and ritual wind instruments. Texas act Steel Hook Prostheses, who have aptly inherited and defended the death industrial throne from the swedes over the last decade, remix the classic track ‘Hypnotic Fear’, adding a contemporary sonic quality while leaving intact the bleak monotony and abject horror of the original. ‘re-recover’ (featuring Kristoffer Oustad aka Kristoffer Nystrรถms Orkester) is built from similar elements as ‘second recovering’, with a result that is more ample, solemn and mysterious. And finally, Peter Nystrรถm himself remixes another classic Megaptera track, ‘Kingdom Of Death’ a sickening audio document about serial murder, thick, claustrophobic atmospheres and samples that reveal the disturb-ing matter.

Megaptera appear as strong as ever; purveyors of true darkness, undisputed masters of their craft, and a real treat for genre aficionados!

[Ant-Zen – dig027] Lingouf – Go Quantum!

Anyone who has been at a lingouf performance will remember this exceptional artist’s ability to create a perfect build up: starting moderate and subtle, then working up the tracks to a furious peak. Vincent Ingouf has employed this method on his latest album Go Quantum! on which diversified complex structures are integrated with a cumulative force of distorted beats. Straight technoid sequences take turns with abstract electronic layers and vocal samples generating a permanent feeling of tension which lies unresolved until the final track’s high speed climax. This release also includes the remix of ‘requiem’ by the japanese project seileen where hard breakbeats amalgamate with ethereal choral singing.

A remarkable album and a perfect link between the studio persona and live performer Lingouf – Go Quantum! transmute your energy! transform your life!
